| Abstract: |
This study entitled Exposure to “Naija Models” and tertiary institution female students’ attitude towards modelling profession was done to find out if exposure to Naija models influences female students attitude towards modelling. The study covered both registered members and non-registered members of ANSU All Stars using survey research method. The research used a 12 item questionnaire carefully designed and tested for data collection. The study found its theoretical background on the Cultivation, Modelling and Social learning theories of Mass Communication. The study objectives are to ascertain the level of exposure to “Naija Models”, the influence of such exposure and perception of respondents on modelling profession as portrayed in the film among others. This study found that exposure to “Naija Models” influences female students’ attitude towards modelling profession, and concludes that film exacts tremendous influence on its viewers. The study recommends that NFVCB and movie producers should be wary of what the public are being exposed to in the interest of morality. |
