| Abstract: |
The type of leadership in any society goes a long way to determine the level of development that takes place in such a society. Of a truth, bad leadership has negatively been impinging the development of most Commonwealth African countries (CWA). The poor performance of the leadership of some nations may be because of their ignorance about some development variables, which include Artificial Intelligence (AI) that could be easily deployed as new frontiers to aid development in various facets. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to advocate the use of AI
for the development of Commonwealth Africa by her leaders. This qualitative study, anchored on The Trait/Qualities Approach and the Situational Approach leadership theories, adopted the Library method, whereby materials already documented are consulted. The reviewed literature revealed that development can be accelerated in commonwealth Africa if leaders would adopt AI in various phases of their
development pursuits. It is therefore recommended, among others, that
Commonwealth leaders in Africa should encourage the science and technology sectors of their countries to enhance the development of local AIs to specifically address their development challenges. |
